Gary Staddan was born in El Paso, TX. He graduated from Austin High School in May 1965 and went on to attend the University of Texas El Paso from September 1965 to December 1966.
In 1967 Gary felt the calling to move to Brisbane, Quensland, Australia where he attended Kenmore Christian College and earned his certificate. While a student at Kenmore, Gary met and (in 1970) married Judy Roberts.
Gary and Judy were called to the Pastorate of Arana Hills Church in Brisbane while Gary finished his studies at the University of Queensland, earning his Bachelor of Divinity degree in 1973.
After returning to the U.S., Gary and Judy served at First Christian Church in Alamogordo, NM and First Christian Church in Leesville, LA.
Gary was called to pastor of First Christian Church in Fredericksburg, VA in 1992, and served until in January 2009, when (due to illness) he transitioned to Associate Pastor. In 2011 he became ‘Pastor Emeritus’.
On April 6, 2015, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease, Pastor Gary was called home to be with his Lord and Savior.
Gary leaves his wife Judy, two daughters: Jennifer Gowan (Brandon) and Caralyn Wheeler (Matt), and five grandchildren to cherish his memory and continue his legacy.
